Hardware Setup in 8 Easy Steps
1. Power on the device
Sounds simple, but it’s essential!

2. Check the battery
Make sure your card reader is well charged. A low battery can cause issues later on.
3. Open the iPad app
Log in to your Shore POS app and go to:
Settings > Payment Methods > Shore Pay > Settings
4. Search & pair the device
Your iPad will now automatically search for nearby Shore Pay Go card readers.
Once found, a software update may start (takes approx. 5–15 minutes).
🔐 Important (from October 13, 2025):
With the new EU security standard, Bluetooth connections are even more secure!
During the initial pairing, a 6-digit code will appear on both devices.
➤ Compare the code and confirm the connection first on the card terminal, then on the iPad.
💡 Devices paired before October 13, 2025, will remain connected as usual.
5. A little patience…
The update takes about 5–15 minutes — perfect time for a coffee break.
6. Activate payment option
After successful pairing, the "Shore Pay" payment method will be available for all card payments.
Don’t forget: Make sure the Shore Pay toggle is switched on!
7. Run a test transaction
We recommend performing a test transaction to ensure everything works smoothly before your first real customer pays by card.
Pro tip: The minimum payout amount is €1 (after fees), so make your test transaction for at least €1.50 to ensure it shows up in your account.
8. Check permissions
Make sure Location Services are enabled on your iPad, and that the Shore POS app has permission to process payments.
