Setting Up the Printer
To use the Epson TM-m30 III printer, you'll first need to prepare it and connect it to your iPad and the Shore POS App via Bluetooth.
Preparing the Printer
- Connect the power adapter cable to the ports on the bottom of the printer.
- Remove the corresponding covers on the printer.

- Check which direction you want the printed paper to be ejected, and attach the printer's covers accordingly.
- How you attach the covers depends on which direction you want the printed paper to come out.

Troubleshooting
Re-Establishing the Connection (Printing a Status Page)
First remove the printer via "Forget" in your iPad's Bluetooth settings, and make sure you've logged out of the Shore POS App.
Then make sure Bluetooth is active on the iPad, so the TM-m30 III can pair again.
Now print a status page via the printer. To do this, follow these steps:
- First open the printer's roll paper cover and leave it open.
- Turn the printer around so the back is facing you.
- Hold down the paper feed button in the bottom left until the paper LED blinks.
- Pull out some paper and close the paper cover again.
- A short report will print immediately.
This report tells you how many times to press the feed button (paper feed button) to select the desired mode:
- 0 = exit
- 1 = BT status report
- 2 = network status
- 3 = status page
- 4 = network diagnostics
- 5 = printer can be connected via Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct
Select option 1 (BT status report):
Step 1: Tap the feed button briefly and release it immediately.
Step 2: Then hold down the feed button for about 2 seconds.
Another section will now print. Pairing then takes about 1 minute — during this time, the Bluetooth button blinks.
Now reconnect the printer to your iPad: it should appear as "Epson TM-m30III" among the connected devices in your iPad's Bluetooth settings.
Then check in your POS app that the printer also appears there. Make sure AirPrint isn't selected, and that only the Epson printer is selected and connected. Don't forget to tap Save afterward.
Note: If the steps described above don't produce the desired result, you can try again by first resetting the printer to factory settings.
Alternative: Using the Small Reset Button (SW Reset)
- Turn off the printer.
- On the bottom of the printer, find the small SW reset button next to the Ethernet port.
- Hold down the button with a pen for about 5 seconds.
- While still holding the button, turn the printer back on.
- A printout reading "Resetting to Factory Default" should appear.
Then set up the Bluetooth connection again as described above.
In Case of a Paper Jam
If paper gets jammed, it's important never to forcefully pull the paper out, as this can damage the printer. Instead, carefully open the roll paper cover and locate the jammed paper. Gently remove the paper by pulling it in the direction of the paper feed. Make sure all paper remnants are removed before closing the cover again.
Meaning of the LED Indicators
The LEDs on the printer indicate its current status and the state of the connection. If an error or malfunction occurs, please check which LED is lit, off, or blinking.
The Printout Is Faint
If your printout is faint or shows streaking, the thermal print head may be heavily soiled. Clean the thermal print head and check whether this resolves the issue.
Epson recommends cleaning the thermal print head regularly to maintain original print quality. Regular cleaning is recommended.
Depending on the type of roll paper used, paper dust can build up on the platen roller, which may prevent the paper from feeding correctly. Remove the paper dust by cleaning the platen roller with a cotton swab dampened with water. Only turn the device back on once the water has fully dried.
Turn off the printer.

Open the roll paper cover.

Clean the thermal print head (A) with a cotton swab dampened with alcohol solution (ethanol or isopropyl alcohol), and clean the platen roller (B) with a lightly dampened cotton swab.
A: Thermal print head
B: Platen roller
