Your Step-by-Step Guide to a Successful Start with Your POS System

Ready to get started? We'll walk you through setting up your Shore POS system step by step. It's best to work through the steps in the order listed. Let's go! 🚀

Step 1: Account Settings

First, adjust the basic settings of your POS account in the POS Manager — for example, your company and business details, invoice layout, and location.

➡️ Here's a detailed guide to your account settings in the POS Manager

Step 2: Manage Your Inventory

Next, set up your inventory — this includes services, products, and vouchers.

Services

Add your services in the POS Manager and define prices, tax rates, and categories.

➡️ Here's the guide to creating services directly in the POS Manager

Note: With the All in One package, your services are created in the calendar and automatically synced from there to the POS. In this case, setting them up separately in the POS Manager isn't necessary.

Products

Add your products in the POS Manager and define prices, tax rates, and stock levels.

Alternatively, you can conveniently import your existing product catalog using an Excel template.

Vouchers

With the Shore POS, you can also create vouchers and sell them to your customers.

Step 3: Add Employees

Set up your employees as users and assign the appropriate permissions for the checkout.

Step 4: Manage Customers

Maintain your customer data directly in the POS system.

➡️ Here's the guide to managing customers

Note: With the All in One package, your customers are managed in the calendar and automatically synced from there to the POS. In this case, separate customer management in the POS isn't necessary.

Step 5: Checking Out

Now it's time to start checking out! First, download the app and set up your iPad.

➡️ Here's the guide to setting up your iPad and installing the Shore POS App

Afterward, you can carry out a test purchase and apply discounts for your customers.

Note: As long as no TSE / RKSV has been activated, all test transactions can be deleted for you by us at the end. Once the TSE / RKSV is activated, test transactions can no longer be deleted and must instead be reversed manually as regular credit notes.

Step 9: TSE / RKSV

Depending on the country in which you operate your POS system, different legal requirements apply for securing your cash register:

Germany: Here, the Technical Security System (TSE) is mandatory. Since 2023, there are no more exceptions — all computer-based and electronic cash registers must be secured with a TSE.

Austria: Here, the Austrian Cash Register Ordinance (RKSV) applies, which requires you to register and integrate your cash register in a legally compliant way via FinanzOnline and Fiskaltrust.
