Is Shore Pay suitable for all industries?

Is Shore Pay available in all countries?

Shore Pay is currently available in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Which cards are supported?

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • China Union Pay (CUP)
  • Co-branded Girocard (Visa or Mastercard)
  • V Pay
  • Maestro

Can my customers pay with their smartphone?

  • Yes, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay are all supported.

Note:
Please note that we currently can't accept Apple Pay payments made with Sparkasse Girocards. Only co-branded Girocards are supported, but Sparkasse issues plain Girocards. The temporary workaround is to use the physical card with its magnetic stripe, or to pay with a Sparkasse Visa or Mastercard.

Is there a minimum amount for card payments?

  • Yes, card payments must be at least €1/CHF 1.

How often do I receive payouts?

  • Transfers are usually made within 1 business day of the transaction date, though depending on your bank it can take 2–3 business days.

Note: The minimum payout amount is €1/CHF 1.

Where can I see my payments and payouts?

  • You'll find all the necessary reports in the POS Manager.

Important notes for restricted business types:

You may not use Shore Pay for the following activities unless you have received prior written approval. If your business falls under one of the restricted categories, please contact us.

  • Investment and brokerage services
  • Lending
  • Buy now, pay later services
  • Crowdfunding
  • Collection agencies
  • Insurance services, including medical benefit packages
  • Money transporters, currency exchange services, and other money services businesses
  • Neobanks / challenger banks
  • Other financial institutions
  • Government services

Government grants

  • Embassies, foreign consulates, or other foreign governments
  • Pharmaceutical companies and telemedicine

Online pharmacies

  • Prescription products, including controlled medications
  • Telehealth and telemedicine services

Tobacco products

  • Tobacco products, including e-cigarettes and e-liquid

Other

  • Credit card and identity theft protection services
  • Other age-restricted goods or services

Businesses that may carry increased financial risk, such as:

Travel

  • Travel booking services and clubs
  • Airlines and cruise lines
  • Timeshare services

Non-fiat currency and stored value

  • Virtual and cryptocurrencies, etc.
  • Prepaid phone cards, SIM cards, and phone services
  • ...

Business models that are particularly vulnerable to abuse by bad actors, such as:

Multi-level marketing

  • Businesses where sellers earn income both from selling products and from recruiting new sellers
  • Network marketing and referral marketing programs
