Which customers receive my newsletter?

With Shore, you can send newsletters for promotional purposes.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), promotional newsletters may only be sent to recipients who have signed up for your newsletter.

Caution: When creating a newsletter, you can select only those customers as recipients who have subscribed to your newsletter.

What Counts as Advertising?

Advertising includes any measure aimed at promoting sales. Promotional newsletters are intended to trigger a specific action or attitude in the recipient. This includes, for example:

  • Offers
  • Discount promotions
  • Event invitations
  • Birthday or holiday greetings
  • Other types of image advertising

Important: Newsletters containing any form of advertising may only be sent to recipients who have signed up for your newsletter.

Selecting Recipients for Promotional Newsletters

When you create a newsletter with Shore, it's sent in compliance with the GDPR by default. This means that, normally, only customers who have signed up for your newsletter can be selected as recipients. Here's the article for more information.

When selecting recipients, you can see exactly which customers your newsletter can be sent to. You have the following options:

1. Selecting a customer group

  • Click the Groups tab.
  • Click the desired group(s).
  • On the right side next to "Recipients," you'll see the total number of customers who have given marketing consent and will therefore receive your newsletter.

2. Selecting specific recipients

  • Click the Recipients tab. Customers who haven't given marketing consent are automatically grayed out and can't be selected.
  • Select the desired recipients individually.
  • The selected customers are listed on the right under "Customers." The total number of customers who will receive your newsletter is also shown on the right next to "Recipients."
